Questions only you can answer, However they must be asked first.
Questions I ask Myself, sow I may better “Know Thy Self”.
Will Silver (Truth) tarnish in the presents of gold?
Are there many planes of existence?
Does good or evil really matter?
Is cause always/only expressed in materialism?
Are actions always expressions in the ALL?
Is heart the spirit mind?
If I AM ALL, what else there?
Why in the ALL must we consume in the ALL?
People realise so little of their mental life, even as asked in the body of these Questions, when they are presented with a picture of mental life out of the body, they lose all sense of reality, feeling as though they had passed into a world of a dream.
We live in the midst of illusions, but we have the feeling of reality, and this yields to us content?
The mental plane, as its name implies, is that which belongs to consciousness working as thought, not of the mind as it works through the brain, but as it works in its own world, unencumbered with physical spirit-matter.
This world is the world of the real man. The word “man” comes from, the Sanskrit root “man” this is the root of the Sanskrit verb “to think,” so that man,…means thinker. Man is named by his most characteristic attribute, intelligence. When man Questions, he begins to think.
Does man create his own Universe?
For death is only a change that gives the soul a partial liberation, releasing it from the heaviest of its chains. It is a birth into a wider life, a return after a brief exile into physical life.
“There are many roads of error, the road of truth is one”.
When all the paths of error have been trodden,… when all have been found to end in suffering,… the choice to walk in the way of truth is unswerving, based on this knowledge, I have Questions.
Not until man identifies himself with life instead of with the form,…. can the element of pain in sacrifice be rid of.
I ask theses Questions of myself. Many, I have answered within.
What are my ideals? In what do I really believe?
What is my ambition in life – and why?
Am I prepared to face the truth about my self and make a change? Or am I to sit on both sides of the fence?
What are my faults? What are my talents? What am I doing about them?
What are the things which affect and worry me? Just how important are they?
Once having eliminated all unnecessaries from our minds, we can give undivided attention to anything we do. The completely undivided attention of the mind is all-powerful, omnipotent, a force that can burn through everything and bend everything to its command.
This is known to occultists, mystics, and students of these things, who spend the best part of their lives in practices and studies with this end in view. Without experience man cannot create. At present humanity is said to be evolving from a state of ineffectual virgin ‘spirit’, into self-conscious.
When Universal Love, neighbourliness, and brotherhood spread across the world, East and West will learn from each other, pool their attributes. The result will be an Inspired Activity.
We have already seen the earliest beginnings of this amalgamation around us. While westerners are busy improving living conditions in the East, oriental teachers of philosophy and spiritual law’s are gaining considerable hearing in the West.
The ideal towards which we have to work is therefore Meditation followed by Action. Let us now consider the actual process of Meditation.
Imagine a great orchestra playing a powerful symphony….
In the orchestra is one delicate muted violin, which we cannot hear although it plays all the time. The louder vibrations subdue its sound. If the louder instruments were to be stopped one by one, the violin, will still not be heard.
However, when they have all ceased…, we can suddenly hear it playing faintly. Our ears gradually accustom themselves to it, until it appears to be making a clear sound.
Are you that violin?
Matter and Energy are but “modes of vibratory motion,” and some of the more advanced are rapidly moving toward the positions of the occultists who hold that the phenomena of Mind are likewise modes of vibration or motion. Let us suppose an object moving slowly. It may be seen readily, however, no sound of its movement reaches the ear. The speed is then gradually increased.
In a few moments its movement becomes so rapid that a deep growl, or low note may be heard. Then as the rate is increased the note rises in the musical scale.
Motion being still further increased, the next highest note is distinguished. Then, one after another, all the notes of the musical scale appear, rising higher and higher as the motion is increased.
With knowledge of the Principle of Vibration, applied to Mental Phenomena, one may polarize their mind at any degree they wish, thus gaining a perfect control over the mental states, moods, emotions, etc. This is the Art of Mental Alchemy.
With a little reflection on what was said, shows that the Principle of Vibration underlies the wonderful phenomena of the power manifested by the Masters and Adepts, who are able to set aside the Laws of Nature, but who, in reality, are simply using one law against another, one principle against others, accomplish their results by changing the vibrations of material objects, or forms of energy, thus perform what are commonly called “miracles.”
“Man is a creature of reflection, that which he reflects upon in this life he becomes the same hereafter.”
The Ancient Wisdom teaches, indeed, that the soul progresses through many worlds, but it also teaches, that one is born in each of these worlds over and over again, until one has completed the evolution possible in each world.
Such Masters and Adepts, care little for the life of the senses, care little for external observation, for mental application to images of external objects, their powers are in drawn, and no longer rush outwards in the search for material satisfaction.
Dwelling calmly within themselves, engrossed with the problems of philosophy, with the deepest aspects of life, thought, seeking to understand causes rather than troubling themselves with effects, approaching nearer and nearer to the recognition of the One that underlies all the diversities of external Nature.
Kick these Ancient axioms around in your mind, as you read them.
You might have some Questions.
“The possession of Knowledge, unless accompanied by a manifestation and expression in Action, is like the hoarding of precious metals,…a vain and foolish thing. Knowledge, like wealth, is intended for Use. The Law of Use is Universal, and he who violates it suffers by reason of his conflict with natural forces.”
“To change your mood or mental state−change your vibration.”
“To destroy an undesirable rate of mental vibration, put into operation the principle of Polarity and concentrate upon the opposite pole to that which you wish to suppress. Kill out the undesirable by changing its polarity.”
“Mind (as well as metals and elements), may be transmuted from state to state, degree to degree, condition to condition, pole to pole; vibration to vibration.”
“Rhythm may be neutralized by an application of the Mental Art of Polarization.”
“Nothing escapes the Principle of Cause and Effect, but there are many Planes of Causation, and one may use the laws of the higher to overcome the laws of the lower.”
“The wise ones serve on the higher, but rule on the lower. They obey the laws coming from above them, However on their own plane, and those below them, they rule and give orders. Yet, in so doing, they form a part of the Principle, instead of opposing it. The wise man falls in with Universal Law, and by understanding its movements he operates it instead of being its blind slave. Just as does the skilled swimmer turn this way, and that way, going and coming as he will, instead of being as the log which is carried here and there,… sow is the wise man as compared to the ordinary man,… and yet both swimmer and log; wise man and fool, are subject to Law. He who understands this is well on the road to Mastery”
I will keep this short for NOW…. We have much to think about.
“THE ALL is MIND; The Universe is Mental.” The first of the Seven Principles is the Principle of Mentalism, the axiom of which is “THE ALL is Mind, the Universe is Mental,” which means that the Underlying Reality of the Universe is Mind.
Thus, the Universe itself is Mental, that is, “existing in the Mind of THE ALL.” We shall consider this Principle, let us see the effect of the principle if it be assumed to be true.
If the Universal is Mental in its nature, then Mental Transmutation must be the art of CHANGING THE CONDITIONS OF THE UNIVERSE, along the lines of Matter, Force and Mind. Sow you see, therefore, Mental Transmutation is really the “Magic” of which the ancient; writers had so much to say in their mystical works, and about which they gave so few practical instructions.
If All be Mental, then the art which enables one to transmute mental conditions must render the Master the controller of material conditions as well as those ordinarily called “mental”.
Awe but wait, there are six more principles that must be explored, and experienced. Some hinted at above.
Awe, but what of the Heart?
The issue at hand is to learn a certain spiritual Law, to cure a certain defect in character, to develop a certain quality of mastery. Therefore an intelligent man will strive to discover where he stands, what is the lesson he is required to learn?
Asking Questions is a good place to start.
An individual may choose to hasten their development by speeding up the improvement in their own character through Mentalism. Or they may take the simpler way of the heart, the way of Intuition and Love. In this case they will, through opening their heart in love and faith, thus establish a direct link with the Great Plan, the joy of which Knowledge will uphold them through all experience.
