Deer Medicine

Deer Medicine, it’s been a long time coming

Deer Medicine, Gentleness in Balance

Deer Medicine teaches gentleness in word, thought, touch, and being. By observing the ways deer behaves, it is possible to see the amazing qualities, and powers they possess. From Deer Medicine we learn the gift of gentleness, caring, unconditional Love.

To help us overcome and put aside many testing situations. For only in Love of both ourselves, and others, do we understand the true meaning of wholeness.

With Deer Medicine we gain the ability to listen with grace, compassion, and unconditional love, we find appreciation for the beauty of balance. The true meaning of Polarity.

Understanding the necessity for survival, balanced in the power of gratitude, and giving… comes the ability of sacrifice for the higher good.

Spiritual Beings
The Blinding White Light sees all.

The deer has long been considered a magical creature. The balance of true power lays in love and appreciation, along with compassion, which are symbolic in the feet of Deer.

Deer Medicine teaches us to be gentle, to touch the hearts, and minds of wounded beings who are present in our lives.

In other words, Don’t push people to change,… rather gently nudge them in the right direction.  With the love that comes from Deer Medicine. Love and accept people for who they are.

Truly a powerful lesson!!!

When Deer Medicine enters our heart, a new innocence, freshness, and sweetness is about to be awakened. New adventures are just around the corner, there’s an opportunity to express the gentle love that opens new doors.

In GOD We Trust
I kept my mouth shut, and my eyes open

Here’s my favorite story on Deer Medicine…

One day Fawn heard Great Spirit calling to her from the top of Sacred Mountain. Fawn immediately started up the trail. She didn’t know that a horrible demon guarded the way to Great Spirit’s lodge. The demon was trying to keep all the beings of creation from connecting with Great Spirit. He wanted all of Great Spirit’s creatures to feel that Great Spirit didn’t want to be disturbed. This would make the demon feel powerful, and capable of causing them to fear him.

Fawn was not at all frightened when she came upon the demon. This was curious, as the demon was the archetype of all the ugly monsters that have ever been. The demon breathed fire and smoke and made disgusting sounds to frighten Fawn. Any normal creature would have fled or died on the spot from fright.

Fawn, however, said gently to the demon, “Please let me pass. I’m on the way to see Great Spirit.”

Fawn’s eyes were filled with love and compassion for this over-sized bully of a demon. The demon was astounded by Fawn’s lack of fear. No matter how he tried, he could not frighten Fawn, because her love had penetrated his hardened, ugly heart.

Much to the demon’s dismay, his rock-hard heart began to melt, his body shrank to the size of a walnut. Fawn’s persistent love and gentleness had caused the meltdown of the demon.

Due to this gentleness and caring Fawn embodied, the pathway is now clear for all of Great Spirit’s children to reach Sacred Mountain without having to feel the demons of fear blocking their way…

I have to come to see the great spirit
I come to see the great spirit

Deer Medicine has gently nudged its way into our hearts today. We are being asked to find the gentleness of spirit that heals all wounds. Deer Medicine teaches… Use the power of gentleness to touch the hearts and minds of wounded beings who are trying to keep us from Sacred Mountain.

Like the dappling of Fawn’s coat, both the light and dark may be loved to create gentleness and safety for those seeking peace.

Geer Medicine
There’s a peace for everyone

Deer… sow Gentle you are, Loving all creatures from afar…

The flower of kindness, an embrace sow sweet, You carry the power in your feet…

Would you care for something to eat?

Up to Sacred Mountain you make your way, Opening the way for others, this very day….

Remember… Fawn can teach many lessons about unconditional love. In its true application, unconditional love means, no strings attached. Unconditional means… no conditions. Yet another can mean it to be, accept all conditions unconditionally. The gentleness of Fawn is the heart-space of Great Spirit which embodies Love of the ALL…

Deer Medicine
Resting on the path

Deer Medicine teaches how powerful it is to be of a gentle balanced demeanor, exert keen observation with sensitivity.

Deer is in tune with nature and all its principles. They are sacred carriers of peace. Showing those with Deer Medicine the power, to open their hearts, and love unconditionally!

Look into my eyes, and see the light

Contrary Deer Medicine

Contrary Deer Medicine, (Dead Deer) teaches, you are courting your fear by fighting the internal demons of negative ideas. This is a clue, that force is not always the best method. You may not be willing to love yourself enough to feel your fears, and thus, let them go. You may be projecting your fears on others, or their fears on you.

It may be others whom you fear, thus reminding you of a time when you reacted to life in much the same manner. The only true balance to power is the Love and Gentleness of Deer Medicine.

Do you see?
Do you see?

Love is the key.

Be willing to find things to love about yourself and others. Your demons will melt away. Your fears cannot exist in the same place that love and gentleness abide.

Stop pushing so hard to get others to change. Change comes from within. Apply gentleness to your present situation, become like the summer breeze, gentle, warm, and caring. Moving over, through, and around the one’s you Love.

This is our lesson for solving our present dilemma. If you use it, you will connect with Sacred Mountain, the centering place of serenity, Great Spirit will guide you on the path.

The path to a new way of life
The path to a new way of life

Deer Medicine is good power, messengers in many different ways.

Deer can be our eyes and ears if we acquire their power. They tell us what is up ahead on the road while traveling, helping us to see the future via dreams, meditation, and remind us that we should try to live lives balanced and graceful in the Vibration of Love.

Oh, Hummingbird
Without a Loving Heart. You will never taste the nectar of life.

If you are reading this… Deer Medicine has come as your totem animal, or if you are drawn to the animal through a dream or a vision.

Your spirit is now in the company of one who has long been cherished, an intermediary between the Great Mystery, and humankind. Is something blocking your path? Are you facing a demon? Become Deer Medicine.

Deer Medicine
No need to fear!… Focus will you?

Buck or Doe?

With Deer Medicine feel an acceleration of your powers of intuition. Many Shamans attribute the greatest psychic sensitivity to the Deer People.

If Deer comes close to your campfire, and hangs around, it is brought you a message from the spirit world. Thank it for coming, ask it to talk to you in a dream, in a language you can understand.

Going on a vision quest and seeing a Deer along the way, is an indication that you will meet a stranger on the trail, so study the Deer’s behavior well.

What if a man sees a buck? We won’t go there now will we?

If a woman sees a buck while traveling, it is a sign that she might meet a man up ahead who has sexual desire for her, likely he will be flirtatious. This can be a good sign or a bad sign, depending on one’s personal desires and perspective. By the same token, if a man sees a doe along the road, it is a sign that he will encounter a sensuous and flirtatious woman, a woman who would like to mate with him.

Once again the sign can be good or bad, depending on ones ethics, desires, or preference.

Yep, nothing new here… SEX, is SEX. Male and Female as separate beings.

New Human Paradigm
We Male and Female. Bring them together makes us Whole

However, Deer Medicine also teaches the lessons of Gender.

“Gender is in everything; everything has its Masculine and Feminine Principles; Gender manifests on all planes.”

Gender is not the modern trend of thought along the lines of the mental phenomena of the dual-mind idea. The word “Gender” is derived from the Latin root meaning ” to beget; to procreate; to generate; to create; to introduce”

Thus, a moment’s consideration shows that the word has a much broader and more general meaning than the term “Sex,” the latter referring to the physical distinctions, between male and female living things.

Where Sex is merely a manifestation of Gender, on a certain plane of the Great Physical Plane. Hint, the plane of organic life. Gender is solely that of creating, producing, generating, etc., its manifestations are visible on every plane of the phenomena.

Step into the light and shine

Male and Female

The part of the Masculine principle seems to be that of directing a certain inherent energy towards the Feminine principle, thus starting into activity the creative processes. Is this intent?

The Feminine principle is the one always doing the active creative work,  this is so on all planes. Is this will to create?

Yet, each principle is incapable of the operative energy without the assistance of the other. With some forms of life, the two principles are combined in one organism. For that matter, everything in the organic world manifests both genders. There is always the Masculine present in the Feminine form, and the Feminine present in the Masculine form.

When the Feminine corpuscle/electron unites with a Masculine corpuscle/proton, a certain process is begun. The Feminine particles vibrate rapidly under the influence of the Masculine energy, thus circle rapidly around the latter.

Extiction Level Event
Action at a Distance. It’s closer than you think

The result is the birth of a new atom. This new atom is really composed of a union of the Masculine and Feminine electrons, or corpuscles, when the union is formed, the atom is a separate thing, having certain properties, a life its own sow to speak, no longer manifesting the property of electricity.

The process of detachment, or separation of the Feminine electrons is called “ionization.” These electrons, or corpuscles, are the most active workers in Nature’s field.

Arising from their unions, or combinations, manifest the varied phenomena of light, heat, electricity, magnetism, attraction, repulsion, chemical affinity, and the reverse, of similar phenomena. Thus, all this arises from the operation of the Principle of Gender on the plane of Energy.

Again, the power is in the feet. Deer’s two toe’s are the same size. Separate yes,… However, they are on the one foot together.

Chomper our deer friend!! Are you Listening. The T is silent
Chomper our deer friend!! Are you Listening. The T is silent

“ In the beginning of all things, wisdom and knowledge were with the animals, for the One Above did not speak directly to man. He sent Animals to tell man that he showed himself through the beasts, and that from them, and from the stars and the sun and the moon, man should learn . . . for all things speak of the One Above.”

The Symbolic Meanings for Deer

It’s been said… any practice by which man sustains himself at the expense of other sentient beings, is considered wrong. Consider ALL non-human life to be Divine, as is human life.

Animals are an evolving kingdom/plane of living creatures destined in time to obtain perfect enlightenment. Some farther along than others. All of life is seen to be one in the ALL.

According to this conviction,… to harm any living thing, is to do injury to the One Eternal Divine Life. Since animals are considered to be traveling towards enlightenment just as man, neither are to be harmed, discouraged or hampered in their progress.

Feeling Love
Feeling Love. What’s in a feeling?

Deer Medicine has much to teach us about grace, strength, agility, intuitive spirit, and supreme adaptability.

Deer Medicine is tenderness woven within attuned power, deep listening, and quick instincts. Qualities of which we might all do well to cultivate within ourselves. Deer lives almost anywhere! Deer is gentle and vulnerable, however….

Deer Medicine is also the old “mossy-backed” stag of the forest. The mossy-back stag is so attuned to the ways of nature and presence that he is practically invisible, easily eluding the blundering presence of humans, especially those bent on his destruction. His many fingered antlers display his ability to side step death, (be it from hunters, doubt, or fear), to battle successfully for their place, and mates, thus saying yes to life.

Quit being the walnut. Surrendered to Deer Medicine, learn and explore the metaphor of Deer Medicine, to seeing what Deer has to teach, practicing Deer Medicine, (however that may unfold!), in one’s Deer life.

The power in Spirit.
Flying on the Wings of Consciousness in the Spirit of Deer Medicine

 Knowledge is Power
Experience is Wisdom
Your Power is Yours
Deer Medicine the best Medicine

Winky, My alter Ego
Hey, look at ME! I have antlers.

Deer Medicine, the Balance of power.

The Balance of Power

The Balance of Power, is Power in Balance

The Balance of Power. The Balance between Heaven and Earth
The Balance of Power. The Balance between Heaven and Earth

Why do I trouble myself with writing The Balance of Power. Maybe it’s because I need to see it in writing. The Reflection. Or maybe you do. Before the pendulum swings back. Why else?

Am I just performing a balancing act? Of the Ying and Yang. The Light and the Darkness. The Positive and the Negative. Jugggling power in a way to express The Balance of Power. Not for you but for myself. Or could it be the other way around? One must have balance if they are to stand in the Center/Heart/Spirit and walk that fine line to freedom.

Returning to Paradise Lost
The Balance of Power is the same as flying on Wings on of Consciousness

So what do I stand for? Sitting is good, and laying down. Well what can I say? Opossum Medicine.  Aren’t we all playing dead? So how do we Balance Power? Why are you asking me? If you don’t know, How can I help?

You are The Singularity, aren’t you? Seems like a Personal Power issue. Some have it, Some don’t. Could it be you are seeking, The Balance of Power, In your own reflection? If that’s the vision. One must have both experiences. Using a Description, Light and Darkness as we are both. Can one see the Light when standing in pure Light? Thus the reverse of this is true as well.

The Balance of Power is seeing every thing as shades of gray. The Balance of Dark and Light. In and out. Up and down. Spirit and Mind, the list goes on and on.

Why else would you be reading The Balance of Power? Maybe for kicks and giggles, what else have you to do? Besides seek the wisdom of somebody else? Hey, what is the Internet for? All those individuals placing their wisdom for all to seek. Simply because they care. What does that say about you? You know it’s, The Balance of Power that makes the Difference. What a difference, if you could Balance your Power.

Power In Balance

In GOD We Truth
I should have just kept my mouth shut and my eyes open

Be it Personal or otherwise. I Am not Judging. What’s to judge? You, Me? Aren’t we both just reflections? The Balance of Power requires one to let go of the power. As Power is our Third Natural Enemy. Personal Power. Could it be anything else but Personal?

Let me ask you. Why are you seeking personal power here? Isn’t Personal Power personal? Yep, The Balance of Power. It’s Personal.

So what are you going to do? Zombies in the Real World. Always hungry for something to satisfy the hunger. The Balance of Power. Is there Life/Spirit/Love/Heartmind in you? If not,  seek Dragonfly Medicine. Dragonfly balances flight on four wings.

The Balance of Power in Nature
Isn’t reality just a reflection? Reflect something new in Balance !

From The Balance of Power. Are you seeking more? Ok, the world spins in two opposite directions at the same time. It’s The Balance of Power Mother Earth does. It’s a matter of perspective. From the North pole Earth spins counter clock wise. From the South Pole perspective. Clock wise. Wow, It’s spinning to two directions at once. If that’s not The Balance of Power, what is?

Why do I trouble myself with your blindness? Could it be you are a reflection of me?  The more I balance power. The less Power I need. Yep, that’s personal. Seems perspective is everything. Or could it be a point of view? Only you can decide what is best for you. I Am not telling you anything you don’t all ready know in your Heart/Spirit/Consciousness. Maybe you have chosen to forget the God Self. To experience both sides of the coin. Standing before the river Styx. Is that a Silver Coin?

The Balance of Power. A Perspective. A Point of View. Or something more? I have my perspective, you have yours. In reality it’s just a Point of View. Seeing our Reflection from a different Perspective. Spirit can see a number of perspectives. How about you?  The Balance of Power is no easy task. It requires one to be aware of intent. To be conscious of Spirit. To except the Reflection. Then change it from within. Just another Point of View/You.

Our life Journeys!
Our life Journeys require Balance!

That’s what makes it personal. Spirit becomes personal. Spirit is personal. Could it be something else? The Balance of Power is what I Am writing about. What you are Seeing is Personal. How could I judge you for where you are standing or sitting, or lying down Dreaming. Ooops, That might be personal.

Yep, you are you. For me to judge would be a matter of perspective. Why would I do that? When I want to Balance Power. Seeing both sides and then letting go of the Power. After all power is something we are. Not something we use. Unless you see it differently. By letting go one frees the Spirit. To have other perspectives.

The Balance of Power. Isn’t a point of view. It’s not reality. It’s not even you or me. It’s the Balance of Power that makes the difference for you and for me. As we are all reflections. A reflection of The Balance of Power, you reflect for a change. Bring Balance.

The Spritt of Reflections
Mirror, Mirror on the Wall is that ME in the balance of it ALL

I Am tired of giving and not receiving. I am sure you are too. I have given enough in the discovery of Spirit to you. Now is the time that Spirit gives back to me, Thus, The Balance of Power. Where’s the balance in constant giving? Somethings you just have to let go of one perspective to envision another. The Balance of Power. As the pendulum swings back to the middle, I SEE…

A well, where Spirit comes to drink. As I drop the bucket into the well and start to pull it up. I wonder is the well dry because so many have come and quenched their thirst. And have not returned the water back to the well. They poured what’s left in the cup on the ground. And walked away. What a waste. At least Pray for rain to replenish the well. To much to ask? Where do you believe the water in the well came from? Believing the well will always contain water is Blind Faith.

One may walk away thirsty. Is that the wells fault? Of course not, the well gave all it had. Now its time for rain to replenish the well. Call on Frog Medicine. Until it rains, I have nothing else to offer. I have given freely to all who came to drink. What a shame you couldn’t dig your own well. Quenching your own thirst for Spirit then sharing with me. Oh Well, The Balance of Power.

Essence of life
The Eagle is the POWER we balance

Knowledge is Power
Experience is Wisdom
Take your Power Back
Fly on the Wings of Consciousness

Winky, My alter Ego in Balance
Oh NO! We are headed out to the Balance of power in Creation. I had better pack a Bag.

To my Friends and Loved ONES

My job here is Finished. There will be one more post called Chakras, the Cap Stone of this work. Which I AM sure will give you a much bigger picture of what Spirit is all about. It’s the As Above so Below of Consciousness, sow don’t miss it. It’s my Christmas present to Humanity. What else could I give but of myself.

Fair Well on your Journeys in Consciousness!

The Balance of Power is walking that fine line

Coyote Medicine

Coyote Medicine, The Trickster who tricks them self.

Coyote Medicine
Coyote Magic. Coyote Medicine bring a message.

Coyote Medicine is symbolic of the magic in life and creation. It’s sometimes hard to grasp the wisdom of Coyote Medicine without experiencing some unsettling or disruptive feelings. There’s often wisdom in making fun of serious matters and letting go of certainties. This animal totem provides its teaching with a good sense of humor. Even if Coyote Medicine is often presented in many stories as a trickster and a spirit animal bringing complication to whoever crosses his path, it is a good reminder to keep things simple and open up to possibilities where surprises await you. Pay attention, you may find a piece of wisdom in the most unexpected places. The wisdom delivered by Coyote Medicine is rarely direct. The way of the coyote is to teach through ways that do not appear straightforward. Call on the spirit of coyote to support you in refreshing your perspective and lighten the weight of circumstances.

Coyote Medicine is often seen as the Spirit Keeper of the South because of his ties to Fire. The Trickster portion of Coyote Medicine comes because he is always being burned by his own REASON, the wisdom comes in as his ability to bring it to humanity. Coyote Medicine is tied to solar energy as well, for Coyote is said to have pushed back the Sun when it was scorching people from being too close to Earth.

The one whom with Coyote Medicine journeys will be an individual that feels they are here for a specific purpose or “mission.” However, the irony is that despite this strong sense that there is a mission to be accomplished on this Earth-walk, the Coyote Medicine Spirit will spend many years in attempting to discern what that special purpose is. At times glimmers of their “destiny” will appear clearly before their questing eyes only to suddenly disappear as ensuing doubts and issues of self-worth clouds their vision.

Coyote Medicine people have many magical powers, but they do not always work in their favor. Their own trickery fools them. Coyote is the master trickster who tricks himself. No one is more astonished than Coyote at the outcome of his own tricks. He falls into his own trap. And yet he somehow manages to survive. He may be banged and bruised by the experience, soon he goes on his way to even greater error, forgetting to learn from his past mistakes. He may have lost the battle, but he is never beaten.

Coyote Medicine is sacred Medicine. In the folly of Coyote’s acts we see our own foolishness. As Coyote moves from one disaster to the next, he refines the art of self-sabotage to sheer perfection. Coyote takes himself so seriously at times that he cannot see the obvious. No one can blindly trick themselves or others with more grace and ease than this holy trickster. For example, Coyote is standing in front of a steamroller that is about to run over him. When it hits him, he still cannot believe it. “Was that really a steamroller? I better go look,” he says. And he is run over once more.

Contained within the trickster Coyote Medicine is the humor of the ages. The cosmic joke is not just on ourselves but on everyone else, if they are following Coyote or have strong Coyote Medicine. Someone like this may be able to convince others that a skunk smells like roses, but the fact remains that it is still a skunk. Coyote Medicine teaches the balance of wisdom and folly, and how they both go hand in hand.

If Coyote Medicine enters our life, it is asking us to look at something we may have been avoiding. They are mirrors for the lessons we must learn so we are able to walk a good sacred road. The mirror will be held up incessantly until we finally get the picture. Reflect these attributes in Coyote Medicine.

Like coyote, we can either work with others to get what we want, or we can dive into a lake to catch a reflection. We can dispel troubles or invite them carelessly. It all depends on how one uses Coyote Medicine. As Snooze time is over if Coyote Medicine has crossed your path. Watch out! Your glass house may crash to the ground at any moment. Your self-mirror may shatter. The divine trickster is dogging you, and you may fall into a trap having to chew your leg off to get out. When Coyote scratches under his arm. He does a crazy dance. He catches his tail on fire playing with matches. He jumps in the fish pond to save himself and nearly drowns. Coyote seduces a concrete statue. Coyote thinks he has found a bone, but it’s a rattlesnake. Everyone watches the comedic scene. Coyote is you, me, with life’s booby traps, jet airplanes with toilets that don’t work, blind dates, and all the humorous and whimsical things we encounter along life’s way. When was the last time you did something just because it was crazy and fun? Yep, that’s Coyote Medicine.

Coyote… you Devil.
You tricked me once more.
Must I sit and ponder the magic,
Or what you did it for?

Coyote Medicine
Look into my eyes and you will hear the story of Coyote Medicine

Coyote Medicine

In the beginning of this world, the Great Spirit called a council meeting of all the Animal people. Great Spirit said: “Some of you do not have names yet, and some of you do not like the names you have now. So tomorrow, before the sun rises, I will give a name to everyone. And I will also give each person a special arrow.”

This caused a big uproar and chattering, but the Great Creator continued. “Come to my lodge as soon as the darkness is gone. The one who gets here first can choose any name he wants. And I will give him the longest arrow, and this power symbol will mean he has the most power.”

As everyone was leaving the meeting, Coyote turned and said to his friend the Fox: “I don’t like my name, so I am going to make sure I am there first. I think I would like to be called Grizzly Bear or Eagle.”

Fox just laughed and laughed. “Nobody wants your name. I think you’ll probably have to keep it,” he said.

“No!” said Coyote. “I’ll prove it to you. Just wait and see. I’ll be there first. I won’t even go to sleep tonight just to make sure.”

That night he sat by his fire and stayed awake for a long time. Owl hooted at him, making him feel nervous. Frog croaked in the marshes and sang songs that made Coyote sleepy. Coyote heard all the animals, even the Crickets. He kept staring at the sky, and soon even the stars began to slowly disappear, making his eyelids feel heavier and heavier. He became very sleepy.

Suddenly he jumped up and said: “I’ve got to do something about this!” So he looked around, found two sticks, and propped them under his eyelids. “Now I can stay awake,” he said to himself.

But soon he was fast asleep. When he did finally wake up, the sun was already passing over the mountains, and Coyote’s eyes were dry from having been propped up all night. And even though his eyes were sore and he could hardly see, he ran as fast as he could to the Great Creator’s lodge. It was empty except for the Great Creator.

“I want to be Grizzly Bear,” he screamed, thinking he was the very first one there. The Great Creator responded: “That name is already taken, and Grizzly Bear has the longest arrow. He will be chief and medicine man of all the animals on Earth.”

“Then I will be Eagle,” said Coyote firmly. “That name has also been taken,” said the Great Creator. “And Eagle has the second-longest arrow.”

Coyote became frustrated and worried. “Then I will be Salmon,” he cried sadly. “That name has also been taken, and Salmon has the third arrow,” said the Great Creator. “So he will be chief of all the Fish people. Only the shortest arrow is left, and it has only one name on it. Here, take it,” said the Great Creator.

Coyote sank down by the sacred fire in despair. His eyes were still sore and dry, he couldn’t even cry. So the Great Creator put water in them. Coyote sat and thought about his situation.

“I know,” he said, jumping up. “I will ask Grizzly Bear to change names with me.” And off he went. “No, no, no,” said Grizzly Bear. “I cannot do this for you because the Great Creator gave me this sacred name.”

Coyote returned to the fire and thought some more. “Then I will go look for Eagle. But how can I fly? I know! I will go look for Salmon. But how can I swim?” He was so sad and disgusted he began to cry.

The Great Creator heard him and came out of the lodge. He said: “Don’t feel so bad, Coyote. I have a special power for you. I wanted you to be the last one to come because I have special work for you to do, and you will need a special power and ability to do it. Now study your arrow and gift. With it you can change yourself into any form. And when you or someone else needs special help, call upon your power.

“And lastly, Fox will be your little brother and messenger. He will help you when you need assistance in your work. If you die, he will have the power to bring you back to life again. Now go throughout the world and be a teacher.”

That is how Coyote got his name and special power; he teaches us about the powers of Nature, behavior, and values.

Coyote Medicine people sing the Song of Life Trickster. Coyote Medicine, always carries with it, lessons that are crucial to growth and change, teaching the importance of fun and play, using one’s ability to laugh at one’s Self Hidden Lessons. Yet the lesson Coyote brings is usually one that is contained within a grand joke that Coyote plays. Though he is a Teacher Spirit, his lessons are taught via the vehicle of humor and wisdom found within folly. Shape-shifting is one of Coyote’s talents along with Intelligence, and Child like Trust. The Wisdom of Coyote Medicine and Innocence Stealth are some of Coyote’s best attributes.

Coyote Medicine
Coyote Medicine can help you make friends and enemies. Meow!

Contrary Coyote Medicine

If Coyote appears in the shadows or reversed, you can be assured that he is going to be contrary and a pain in your side. Look around yourself and watch which direction he is coming from. If Coyote is approaching you from the shadows, beware of this master of illusion. Coyote may put you in his spell and take you to a briar patch to pick berries. It will be a painful lesson for you if you follow him. Coyote Medicine reversed can appear in your life as a supposed all-knowing teacher, a scam artist, a get-rich-quick business planner, a rare coin door-to-door salesperson, a femme fatale, a movie producer, or anybody who wants you to follow their lead. Coyote Medicine people are not the recommended business partner or lover.

Contrary Coyote Medicine may signal a time when everything you touch backfires. All your jokes may be exploding in your face. In this reversed energy, Coyote also signals a time to be aware of the intentions of others, and to look for the boomerang you threw at another person coming back to knock you from behind. Someone trick may be on you as well, or there could be deception in the wind. Whatever Coyote Medicine reversed has conjured up, it could be coming from any direction. Remember, this joker is always wild!

Only through exploring the many different paths will the Coyote eventually find the Path that his/her Heartmind resonates to. Along the way a variety of interests will capture their restless curiosity. However, the Coyote Medicine individual needs to explore and investigate as theirs is an active and inquisitive mind. Hence, fields where they are challenged intellectually or spiritually will resonate the strongest with them as well as a field in which they can share their insights and knowledge gained with Others.

Coyote Medicne
Sometimes you just have to laugh. That’s Coyote Medicine

Coyote Medicine Lessons

Among some native tribes, coyote is called the trickster and there are many tales about Coyote Medicine. They are known as the great one and the foolish one. Truth is, they don’t consciously try to trick us, rather they reflect back to us our own capacity for being clever and stupid, sometimes at the same time. We are cleverly stupid when we are being too serious about life, Coyote teaches us to laugh at ourselves and life’s ironies. Be prepared for your sense of humor to arise in full force with what is happening around you and to you. Coyote also remind us that whatever we do to others will be done to us. Coyote Medicine brings the Golden Rule, Or in other words, what goes around comes around.

The symbolic meaning of Coyote Medicine resonates with the energy of youth. Cocky, rebellious, fearless, spunky, playful, curious, qualities that are raw electric, and driving. Everything about Coyote Medicine seem to say “lean and keen.” So, when Coyote comes into our awareness, or presents itself as a totem. One is tapping into a high voltage energy craziness. Do you ever feel moments of youthful clarity, simple amusement, and/or a dumb luck high? Yep, that’s Coyote Medicine.

Another interesting observation is the idea of instinct. Have no doubt, the Coyote Medicine is pure instinct. This is why they’ve got the themes of influence in the Native American history. Their instinct is so laser-like, seamless and pinpoint. They’ve been given the crown of “cleverness” and “shape-shifter.” They’re sharp, super sharp, and highly sensory-activated. Coyote’s resourcefulness is second-nature, instinctual.

Coyote Medicine meets tree
Man, I never saw that tree coming. That’s Coyote Medicine in the making, those sudden stops. Damn, that’s going to leave a mark.

Coyote Medicine comes with a message about learning from our mistakes, by learning, we become free from getting trapped or run over by the steamroller time and time again. Coyote Medicine tells us to be mindful of our actions. Being aware of playing tricks on ourselves or others. Coyote Medicine reminds us that the consequences of our actions effect more than just ourselves. This wonderful creature reminds us that no matter what form we take, (as we “shape-shift” our personality). Or how many difficult situations we may find ourselves in, we can always see another side. This is what shape-shifting is partly about, being flexible enough to laugh at the fear, and weep at the joy. This may sound contradictory; that’s the crazy-Coyote Way. Despite the portrayal of Coyote’s humorous, sometimes bungling side, this totem also represents a powerful catalyst for change.

Coyote Medicine energy is linked to simplicity and trust, spurring renewed innocence and a childlike wisdom in the world. Coyote teaches how wisdom and folly go together. In others mistakes we see our own foolishness and can learn from their mistakes. Coyote’s song touches our Spirit, reminding us of our primal connections. People with this power animal adapt easily to new situations. They also usually have close families, especially when children are involved. Coyotes normally mate for life. They live in the sides of hills or in underground dens where their family is pretty much safe. Coyote people will sometimes go to extremes to protect and nurture family members. Sharp cutting words that hurt another should be avoided. Energy bursts are common if this is your power animal, balanced action is necessary for overall well-being. Coyote Medicine people often put other people’s needs before their own, remember to give to yourself equally.

Coyote Medicine brings us many gifts, many of which are greatly unappreciated in modern-day society. Coyote is our right to be individuals while learning how to cooperate and work with others. Coyote is our ability to adapt, to hide when needed, to act the fool to discourage others from invading our space or doing us actual harm. Coyote is the ability to speak the truth about a given situation, to tell it like it is. Coyote is our ability to play, to take risks, to not conform so maybe we might find a better way of going about things that will be of greater benefit to all. Coyote brings us the gift of laughter which has been shown to heal dis-eases. Laughter is powerful medicine and one that all of us would do well to take more and larger doses of. Coyote is the part of us that knows what it feels like to be at the bottom and how to climb back up again with patience and persistence.

Coyote Medicine can teach us how to live in a world that really has gone completely batty, being run by individuals who can no longer see the need to work for a greater good. Coyote Medicine can teach us how to walk into our full potential as unbounded Spiritual beings if we will but listen for its call and respond. Our greatest teacher is waiting! It is said that if all the other creatures of the world were to die off, one would remain. Coyote. Somehow Coyote would find a way to survive and who knows, perhaps all the creatures would be brought back to life again because Coyote one day decided to close his eyes and envision what could be.
